Here at the Collective Memory, we’re always looking to improve the ease of use of the site and we’ve received a request for help in uploading documents to the site. In order to keep entries short and readable, we don’t recommend just copying text across from a formal evaluation or other documents but we do appreciate that it’d be very handy to make these available.
Unfortunately (at the moment at least!) we can’t support uploaded documents directly but there are a variety of ways that you can share documents online and then embed them within your ‘memories’.
- Host the documents (as a .pdf or .doc or similar) on your own website and please do feel free to link through where relevant
- Use a third-party site such as Issuu or Scribd to host your document. You can create a profile and upload your documents and then use the embed code (like embedding a YouTube clip) to share your complete documents within the Collective Memory. If you want to share a PowerPoint presentation, you can use SlideShare to similar effect.
- If you’d rather not use one of these sites, please get in touch with us (SiS[at]britishscienceassociation.org) and have a chat and we’ll do our best to help.
If you’ve got any ideas about how we can improve Collective Memory, please do get in touch!
